A set of folding chairs should always be kept in a closet or corner just incase some extra guests show up for your weekly family dinner or a party. Foldable chairs are lightweight, easy to transport, and will prove to be a great buy when you are in a pinch.
There is a wide variety of folding chairs available which accomplish virtually the same function, however teak folding chairs seem to do it better than both plastic and metal.
Folding teak chairs are much more dependable than both metal and plastic foldable chairs. Teak is one of the strongest and most durable types of wood in the world and it even used to be used for building ships and ship decks. Plastic folding chairs are not weak but they definitely will not be as long lasting as a folding teak chair.
Metal is very sturdy and durable but they do go through their share of damage. Metal chairs will not last you as long as teak will because metal runs the risk of rusting when left in the rain whereas folding teak chairs will have no permanent damage when left outside because they resist decay caused by moisture. The paint on metal folding chairs often chips and eventually you will have to replace them.
Teak chairs are also the best choice above metal and plastic because of their looks. Just like all teak furniture, the chairs naturally look classy whether they are sitting on your deck or at a baseball game. The natural honey color and the natural oils keep the teak vibrant looking while plastic and metal are painted one solid color.
Plastic folding chairs are the cheapest option out of teak and metal but they just do not compare with teak furniture when it comes to appearance.
Both plastic and metal folding chairs will need at least a fresh coat of paint every year if you want them to look as attractive as they did when you purchased them. Teak is a wood and wood does go through some weathering effects but teak folding chairs will require little to no maintenance.
Folding teak chairs match beautifully with any other wooden furniture whether that be inside or outside of the home. Metal folding chairs often stick out when placed next to the rest of the outdoor furniture because they are only painted one solid color. Plastic folding chairs can easily look tacky if you bring them inside for indoor use.
Folding teak chairs are definitely beneficial due to how comfortable they are. Many of them feature optional cushions to place on the backrest and seat. Plastic and metal can also feature optional cushions for the backrest and the seat but they are prone to sliding off and around the chair more easily than on teak due to the smooth surfaces of metal or plastic.
Folding teak chairs are also better equipped for extreme sunlight. Plastic and metal definitely heat up under the sun which could cause burning when someone sits down.
Teak may be the most expensive folding chair out of plastic or metal but it is understandable due to all of the years you will spend with these chairs in all different locations.By. Kristen Duwe
